We want to congratulate our December Graduate of the Month, Douglas White of Amazon!
Douglas has worked in industrial maintenance for about 28 years as an electronics technician, electrician and maintenance supervisor. In 2011 he joined Amazon as a Facilities Technician.
Amazon is a fast paced growing company with an eye on constantly improving in all areas of the business. When he started there was no CMMS system in place and the Facilities Department (now Reliability & Maintenance Engineering) was in the beginning stages of changing to a world class maintenance organization. Eventually new positions were added including the Planner/Scheduler position that he now holds.
As part of the growth process, Amazon wanted to give the best possible training to the Planner/Schedulers. This is where Eruditio and the inspired Blended Learning curriculum and coaches came into the picture. Much of the material that was covered was new to Douglas. On top of that, the his role as a Planner/Scheduler was somewhat different than the typical since our mission is reach and development. The coaches at iBL helped with a certain amount of customized training to help him complete the course. "Overall it was a very beneficial experience that I am glad I had."
