We want to congratulate our February 2017's graduate of the month...Mr. Joel Wheeler of Hollingsworth and Vose. Congratulations on your many accomplishments throughout your inspired Blended Learning curriculum and may you have many more successes to come!
Joel got his start on his family’s grass seed farm in the Willamette Valley Oregon. After high school, he bounced around a little before enlisting in the Navy for six years as a Nuclear Machinist’s Mate. When he got out of the Navy, he worked at a farm close to Corvallis, OR, where he went to Oregon State University and received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. He hired on with Hollingsworth & Vose Fiber in Corvallis December 2014 and has been there ever since.
“I’ve always been pretty data/evidence driven, and the tools presented in the iBL program gave me solid, useful ways to explain things that I’d just sort of known or felt in the past. They also allow me on occasion to question myself and determine if my assumptions, or the path I think I need to follow is really the most effective. I had a great experience working with Brandon and Allen when I was having difficulties wrapping my head around the material, but they were able to answer my questions in a way that I could understand, and that made all the difference. I’m looking forward to taking the CMRP exam, and feel confident that I will do well.”
